In the Beginning...

I decided to start a blog so my mom can see how cute my baby is. Life is fun in Moscow (Idaho, not Russia). Joe just started his last semester of real classes. He'll student teach this spring in Troy. It is a little town about 10 miles away. Then we'll head off to some great place with a great job that pays lots of money and we'll have our student loans paid off in no time. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
In July we moved in to a nice little trailer in a 'trailerhood' out on the edge of Moscow. Some friends of ours own it so we're house-sitting while he does an internship in Salt Lake. Fortunately his internship is for a year and we have a year left in Moscow, so it works out great for everyone.
Zac and I spend all day walking all over town. A friend of mine inspired me to walk 1000 miles this year. I've gone a little over 600 since I started keeping track in February. But that is according to Google maps, so who knows how accurate that is. Its so nice to get out of the house and Zac loves it outside, so it makes for a nice morning.
Zac is growing up so much. He says new words every day. He is really into anything diesel, but excavators, backhoes and dump trucks are by far the coolest. He makes scooping motions and excavator noises with anything that has a curve to it (including chips). He will sit in front of the computer with Joe for 45 minutes just watching videos of excavators. There is a lot of construction on campus and he loves to sit and watch. They are working right next to a park, so when I take him to play on the toys he ignores them and we watch the excavator and dump truck instead. I'm posting a video of him watching his favorite youtube video. Note the look on his face when the music starts - as well as the hand motions, that's his excavator impersonation. (And the place isn't really as pink as it looks on the video) This is the link to the video he is watching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXhhXXsxSfE
